I really got into photography to get good game and cheer pictures of Selena and kinds of our close friends.  All it took was a couple of games and I was hooked on the action photography genre.  A few months down the road and Selena and a friend of hers wanted cheer pictures, sure I could do that, so I did.  Next, it was athletic portraits, a wedding (I mean, nothing like jumping off in the deep end) then families, seniors and more.  I honestly haven't been able to get enough of it.  I truly have a passion for it BUT I also have a 25 year career in IT that I couldn't just walk away from to see, what was then, J Shelly Photography be what I hoped and knew it could be...the rest to come in a blog article ;)

SELENA

Hi! I started getting into photography after seeing my dad do it for a couple years. He never knew it but I would like to sit back and watch him edit pictures and thought it was so awesome. I eventually told him and then I started to take pictures too. I fell in love with it and I decided this is what I wanted to do as my full time job. I am going to college to get my graphics design degree to add something more to the business. I love seeing someone’s face light up after I take a picture of them and they think that it is just so awesome with what I can do, especially at such a young age. I love the creativity that comes with photography and I am very determined to grow this business and can’t wait to see where life takes me with it!
